Job Description

We’re hiring a barback to work Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. This new hire will also work either a Sunday barista shift or lunch bartender shift during the week. This is a chance for a barista who wants to break into the bar world to get their feet wet and join an amazing team at our acclaimed bar/restaurant in Red Hook, Brooklyn!

This isn’t a typical barback position! You will be trained as a lunch bartender and have a chance to use your coffee skills while learning all about dinner service and bar work through the barback role. We are looking for someone who wants to invest time in our bar program and learn.

Requirements
– ability to take direction and work in a team
– desire to learn about cocktails, beer/wine and spirits
– barista skills
– prep work (i.e. making house syrups to our specs)
– service experience (this position is customer-facing for part of every shift!)
– ability to carry 50lbs up and down stairs
– one mandatory Tuesday evening meeting is required each month for bar staff
