Job Description

This individual will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest standards of coffee extraction and presentation. This includes, but is not limited to, espresso extraction, pour-over technique, French press preparation, and many other facets of the coffee industry. This individual will report to Fellow Barber management, The Joule Hotel management and fulfills floor responsibilities with an emphasis on creating a culture, community, and customer experience that aligns with the Weekend brand. As the Lead Barista / Manager this individual will be directly responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of Weekend. This includes overseeing staff, assigning shifts, coordination with vendors and suppliers and ensuring that the daily operations of Weekend are run effectively and on brand working to cultivate creative atmosphere.
• As the Lead Barista / Manager this individual will be directly responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the cafe at Fellow Barber’s NoMad location. This includes overseeing staff, assigning shifts, coordination with vendors and suppliers and ensuring that the daily operations of Weekend are run effectively and on brand working to cultivate creative atmosphere. Minimum of 5 years experience in coffee or related field required.

• To effectively handle customer concerns and needs and communicate them to superiors

• To maintain appearance, cleanliness, and organization of the cafe floor, exterior, and storage areas
• Demonstrates a desire to learn, and understands that Specialty Coffee is a continually evolving industry
• This person is able to adapt to new procedures with ease
• A self motivated individual will do well in this position
• Needs to be able to take critique from superiors
• To efficiently and consistently prepare espresso drinks according to company standard
• Must reliably attend assigned shifts with punctuality
• To continue to develop knowledge and skill
• To communicate effectively with coworkers and management and work well as part of a team
• To adhere to company directed policies and operating procedures
• Oversee staff including staff including new hires, shift coordination and general management
