Brewtus Roasting is recruiting an engaged and driven individual to join our barista and roasting team. In addition to daily barista duties, you will assist the Lead Roaster with roasting and packaging all coffee sold at Brewtus Roasting. You’re proactive, invested in what you do, and take pride in your craft. Brewtus Roasting is one of the fastest-growing independent specialty coffee roasters in the Capital Region. Position Overview:
Prepare various coffee drinks, including espresso, lattes, and pour-over coffee according to Brewtus Roasting standards.
Manage and balance cash drawer.
Keep service area clean at all times.
Weigh green coffee according to schedule for roasting.
Label coffee bags.
Prepare various coffee blends according to Brewtus Roasting established formulas.
Work with Lead Roaster to schedule roasts and ensure efficient production flow to meet inventory requirements for Brewtus Roasting and wholesale clients.
Follow proper manufacturing practices, guidelines, and New York State Agriculture & Markets Health and Safety standards.
Conduct quality control tests with the Lead Roaster per coffee guidelines.
Assist Lead Roaster with tastings and public events.
Transfer roasted coffee to appropriate bagging and grinding production stations to ensure efficient and smooth workflow.
Brew and package cold brew coffee according to Brewtus Roasting established formulas.
Maintaining scheduled production output to meet team goals.
Maintaining accurate roasting logs, greens coffee usage, and other records.
Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Following all safety and security guidelines.
Maintaining regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
Performing any other duties/tasks that may be assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
Passion for coffee
Computer literacy is required.
Must have the ability to lift upwards of 60 lbs. regularly.
Must be able to read and write in the English language.
Basic experience with hand tools.
Working knowledge of mathematics.
The ability to periodically climb in and out of confined spaces to complete cleaning tasks.
Detail-oriented
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Work well in a team environment
Must be able to fulfill manual labor

Compensation:
$15 – 202/hour evaluated by previous work experience highlights a good work ethic, attention to detail, and dependability! This is a part-time role with the potential for hours to grow.
