Tera Espresso Bar just opened this week in Chelsea/Midtown.
Fully outfitted with USM, we serve house roasted coffee, pour-overs, espresso, matcha, and tea to Chelsea/Midtown, just steps from FIT and a short walk from Madison Square Garden, the Virgin Hotel, and Koreatown.
We roast our own gesha and co-ferment green beans at our Lower East Side location and pour them fresh.
Open Monday through Saturday, 7am–4pm,
221 W 29th Street — a calm stop for students, creatives, commuters, and neighbors.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Full-Time Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate has a deep appreciation for coffee culture, possesses excellent customer service skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is reliable for consistent shift coverage.

OPTION to work in both our Lower East Side + Chelsea Location.
Weekend Coffee Omakase @ Lower East Side + Wine Bar/Dinner Service shifts available.

TERA Lower East Side is an oasis in the middle of new york city, located on 41 essex street manhattan, lower east side.

a cafe during the day + natural wine bar / restaurant at night with an illuminated tatami room in the back serving korean sot bap sets.

tera nyc is a space where the vibrant & artistic energy of the lower east side can meet to celebrate and share the exciting stories were writing.

Key Responsibilities
Beverage Preparation: Expertly prepare and serve a variety of coffee, espresso, and tea beverages with established recipes and quality standards (latte art skills are a plus).

Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, make recommendations, and handle payments efficiently using a POS system. Resolve customer concerns professionally and maintain a positive attitude.

Cash Handling: Accurately manage cash and electronic transactions, reconcile the cash register at the end of a shift, and follow all cash handling procedures.

Opening/Closing Duties: Perform routine tasks such as setting up and breaking down the coffee bar, cleaning equipment (espresso machine, grinders, brewers), stocking inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations, especially during peak hours. Assist in training new baristas as needed.

Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards (NYC Food Handlers certification is a plus).

Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of proven barista experience in a high-volume café or coffee shop setting is strongly preferred.

Skills: Demonstrated ability to dial in espresso, steam milk to proper consistency, and execute drink orders quickly and accurately.

Work Ethic: Strong time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.

Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays, and commit to a full-time schedule. Flexible to discuss.

Communication: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform repetitive movements (bending, reaching).
