In Fall 2014 MatchaBar opened its first location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn as the first specialty matcha cafe in New York City, and the greater North East. Our passion is simple: to serve expertly prepared, premium quality matcha to our customers in a modern cafe environment. We firmly believe in the uplifting, motivational, and healing properties of matcha and are deeply committed to sharing these benefits with our community in New York City and beyond.

Candidates must meet ALL of the following requirements to be considered:
-MINIMUM 1 YEAR RECENT HIGH-VOLUME EXPERIENCE WITH MANUAL ESPRESSO MACHINE. Free “refresher” training provided
– Interested in the world of matcha and ready to explain its benefits to our customers
– Quick learner; being a matcha expert is an absolute must
– Able to thrive in a high-pressure environment; we get busy!
– Customer service oriented
– Team-player

As an ambassador of MatchaBar and Matchabar products and services, the Barista is responsible for helping to create and maintain quality and healthy experiences for each guest that comes to Matchabar. Matchabar ambassadors are expected to actively engage with guests and spend quality time with each customer. Matchabar must be fluent in Matcha and all of its benefits, and ready to communicate those to the customer.

All of our baristas/matcha mavens will rotate between preparation and cashier duty. They will also be required to keep the café clean and tidy, and be responsible for all duties related to the daily opening and closing of the store.

Skills & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
-Must have knowledge of all forms of coffee and its related forms, and be familiar with standard drink recipes.
– Must be a quick learner (Matcha product knowledge and brewing technique)
-Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money.
-High school graduate desired or equivalent.
-Must be able to cheerfully communicate with patrons
