The Smile is looking for talented baristas to join our team. We have both full and part-time openings across four locations—The Smile, Smile To Go, The Smile at Milk Studios, and The Smile Newsstand. We’re a young company, focused on delivering consistently delicious products. The work is fast-paced, but we’ve got a pretty relaxed company culture. Excellent for self-motivators.

An ideal candidate would have:
•At least one year of experience in a high-volume specialty coffee shop.
•Familiarity with espresso equipment from La Marzocco, Mazzer, and Synesso.
•A broad knowledge base including coffee processing methods, growing regions, and brewing devices.
•Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide superlative customer service.
•An interest in learning and sharing knowledge about coffee.

You’ll need to have at least one weekend day of availability, and while a NY Food handler’s card isn’t a pre-requisite, we are going to force you to suffer through (and complete) the course within two weeks of hire.

Pay is dependent upon experience, but competitive within the industry.

Previous experience with espresso preparation is a must.
