Plowshares Coffee is a local, quality focused coffee roaster with a busy cafe located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side just south of Colombia University along with our roastery/cafe/training center located in West Harlem on Amsterdam Avenue just steps from 125th Street.

We are currently seeking full time baristas who are experienced coffee and service professionals that take as much pride in their craft as they do in providing exceptional customer service and hospitality in a high volume setting to a diverse clientele.   We truly look for people who are able to balance intentional customer service with consistently excellent drink preparation and bar practices but also have desire to continue their coffee education in a progressive and unpretentious atmosphere.

Our respective bar setups include:
 – 2 Group Slayer & 2 group La Marzocco Linea PB
– Nuova Simonelli Mythos One Clima Pro Espresso Grinders
– Mahlkonig EK43 grinders.
– Fetco CBS-2142XTS Touchscreen Series Coffee Brewer

We are looking for a full time barista able to fill 4-5 shifts per week.  Must have schedule flexibility to work weekends.  Applicants possessing NYC Food Handlers Certificate preferred, not required, but must obtain within 3 months.   Hourly wage dependent upon level of experience.   Full Time Employees over the age of 21 are eligible to participate in company sponsored retirement plan after one year of service.
