New Cafe Opening in LES – Hiring Baristas and Shift leads

Suggested Pay: $10 – $12 / Hr depending on experience

About the Shop:

Little Canal is a neighborhood coffee shop located across the street from Seward Park in the Lower East Side.  The sun filled, 30 seat brews Madcap beans on a 2 group La Marzocco Linea PB.  In addition to serving high quality coffee/espresso, Little Canal also offers simple breakfast, lunch and dinner options and a well curated beer and wine program.

Hours of operation are:

•    Sunday-Wednesday 7:00am-Midnight
•    Thursday-Saturday 7:00am-1am              

Job Description:

Little Canal is looking for friendly baristas with at least 1 year specialty coffee experience for all shifts. Barista must be able to regulate shot quality, dial in grinder, and engage customers while maintaining steady flow of work.  Clean bar habits are a big plus.  Please note that some shifts may require beer and wine bar tending and running food to tables from time to time.  This is a great opportunity for baristas looking to gain experience in other areas of front of house service.

Requirements:

•    Shift leads must have food handlers license prior to start – all other positions must be willing to obtain one
•    1 year minimum barista experience preferred but exceptions can be made for those with previous restaurant, bartending, or serving experience.
•    Interest in learning about beer and wine
•    Managerial experience a plus
