Full-Time Business Partner – Cafe Concept
Job Description
Operating Partner — Street Blends USA
New York, NY | Equity Partnership
ABOUT STREET BLENDS
Street Blends is a caffeine beverage brand building its next chapter in New York City.
Street Blends was created around a simple idea: coffee and beverage culture can be more fun, more creative and more approachable. We have taken the significant step of bringing the company into the U.S. market with our first New York City location in NoHo.
We believe we’re sitting at an unusually interesting point in the life of the company.
Street Blends is far enough along that the hardest parts of starting from zero have already happened. The brand exists. The concept exists. The products exist. The first U.S. location has been designed, funded, built and opened. We have an operating history, a growing customer base, a team, established infrastructure and a founder who has already made a significant investment into proving the concept.
But we’re also early enough that the person who joins us now can have a genuine hand in determining what Street Blends becomes.
We see an opportunity to build Street Blends beyond a single coffee shop. Our long-term vision is a scalable beverage and hospitality company with opportunities across retail locations, packaged products, wholesale, licensing and other extensions of the brand.
We’re particularly strong at the part many hospitality companies struggle with: creating things people actually want to talk about. Product development, branding, design and creating memorable beverage experiences have been at the center of Street Blends from the beginning.
Where we want to become significantly stronger is the operating engine behind all of it and learning more of the NYC market.
That’s why we’re looking for a partner.
We’re looking for someone who sees the value in combining a strong founder-led brand and creative product pipeline with disciplined hospitality operations, strong unit economics and the systems required to scale.
For the right operator, we think that’s a compelling proposition. You don’t have to invent the concept, develop the brand, fund the initial buildout or spend years trying to get something off the ground. You get to come into a real business at a formative stage, apply what you already know, help make it materially better, and participate in the value you help create.
We aren’t looking for someone to simply maintain what already exists. We’re looking for someone who can see what Street Blends could become and wants to own part of the journey getting it there.
We’ve built the brand. We’ve developed the products. We’ve made the investment and opened the doors. And, like most young companies, we’ve also learned very quickly where we need to become stronger.
Operations is one of those areas.
We’re looking for an experienced hospitality operator who wants to come into Street Blends as a real partner in the business — someone who can take ownership of U.S. operations and help us build a stronger, more disciplined and ultimately profitable company.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This isn’t a traditional hospitality job.
We’re looking for someone who wants to build something they can actually have ownership in.
Maybe you’ve spent the last 10 or 15 years running restaurants for other people. Maybe you’re a Director or VP of Operations who’s tired of creating value for somebody else’s company. Maybe you’ve operated your own concept before and understand exactly how difficult this business can be.
Whatever your background, you should be the kind of person who can walk into an operation, look around, look at the numbers and quickly start figuring out what needs to change.
We need someone who understands the relationship between great hospitality and great business.
That means knowing how to manage labor, COGS, purchasing, inventory, vendors, staffing, training and service standards — but also understanding cash flow, profitability, P&Ls and the small operational decisions that ultimately determine whether a location succeeds.
We aren’t looking for someone who needs the Founder to tell them what needs to be fixed.
We are looking for the person who tells us.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
You’ll take significant responsibility for Street Blends’ U.S. operations, beginning with our NYC location.
You’ll work closely with our Founder on the overall direction of the company, while taking the lead on building the operational side of the business.
That includes:
Day-to-day U.S. operations and financial performance
P&L and unit-level profitability
Labor and scheduling
Management and team accountability
Hiring, training and performance
Purchasing, inventory, waste and COGS
Vendor relationships
Operational systems and SOPs
Product execution and consistency
Customer experience
Compliance and operational controls
Identifying what isn’t working and actually fixing it
Building the infrastructure needed for future growth
Most importantly, you’ll have room to lead.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re much more interested in what you’ve actually operated than where you went to school.
Ideally, you have significant experience in restaurants, cafés, fast casual, QSR, food retail or another high-volume hospitality environment.
NYC experience is strongly preferred.
You may have been a multi-unit operator, Director or VP of Operations, COO, President, Operating Partner, GM who grew into larger responsibility, or an entrepreneur yourself.
You should understand P&Ls and restaurant economics extremely well.
You should know how to build and manage teams.
You should be comfortable making difficult decisions.
You should be systems-oriented without needing everything to already be perfectly organized before you can operate.
And you should genuinely want ownership.
PARTNERSHIP + EQUITY
We’re approaching this differently from a traditional executive hire.
For the right person, we’re prepared to structure meaningful equity participation in the U.S. business so that the person helping us build the value of Street Blends can participate in the value they create.
The exact structure will depend on experience, involvement, commitment and what each party is bringing to the table. Equity would be structured thoughtfully around long-term participation and agreed milestones.
We are also very interested in speaking with experienced investor-operators who may want to bring both operating expertise and capital into the business.
We’re open-minded about what the right partnership looks like.
What matters most to us is finding someone who looks at Street Blends and thinks:
I know how to make this better, and I want to help build where this can go.
This is a hands-on opportunity based in New York City. It is not a passive advisory or consulting position.
