Full-Time Cafe Cook
Job Description
Join the team at SHOP in Williamsburg!
With the warmer weather approaching we are looking to grow the team with an excited, motivated, and experienced Cafe Cook to help deliver our Australian Cafe concept to the neighborhood. We are a small team and we share a lot of the tasks to run the cafe, so you’ll learn to do a bit of everything!
We are looking for an excited and hard-working person that loves to learn new things, works well as part of a small team but can also manage themselves to complete tasks. The role will consist of preparing simple yet delicious breakfast/lunch items (avocado toast, bagels, acai bowls, burritos, smoothies etc), plus helping taking orders, running out food and drinks to customers, clearing & wiping tables, as well as sharing taks such as dishwashing, restocking and cleaning. The ideal candidate for this role is friendly with the customers & your fellow teammates.
The ideal candidate loves working in a fun, fast-paced, team environment, thrives in a kitchen atmosphere, and is motivated by success, as well as team and individual growth. Some previous cafe experience is preferred (working in a small kitchen, making coffee, serving), as not only will you be cooking / prepping our delicious and beautiful food, but you will also be required to help in all areas of our small business on a daily basis.
The position will require current availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays (there might be some flexibility in this, open to a discussion). As we get busier in the spring time (April-May), a 5th day option for working Sundays may also become available. Our current hours are from 8am – 4pm everyday. (Shifts are a mix of full days & split days ~ 30 hours to start).

* Passion for food and cooking techniques
* Strong team qualities and ability to work fast and efficient when working alone under pressure
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Approx. Wage: $20-22/hr (based on experience / Food Handler Certification)
Benefits: Free shift meals, paid sick leave
