SHOP is an Australian-inspired local cafe. Opened in 2014, we can proudly say that over the past 7 years we have perfected the art of pouring flat whites and smashing avocado toast in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We are a small but fast-paced team that can multi-task (making coffee whilst greeting customers and entering orders all at the same time). As a multi-roaster cafe, we are currently offering coffees from Proud Mary and Counter Culture Coffee, but have had many other guest roasters over the years (Coffee Supreme, Common Room Roasters, Barrel One to name a few!) We have custom La Marzocco, with Mahlkonig grinders too!

We are looking for a skilled and multi-talented barista, who can also manage the cafe. The role will consist of making amazing coffee, greeting customers, taking orders, offering menu suggestions, running out food and drinks and clearing tables as well as dishwashing, restocking and cleaning. You will also be required to organize the weekly schedule, and share this with the team every week. The ideal candidate for this role is extremely personable both with the customers, but also your fellow staff members. Our team is small, like family, and we want to ensure our already super positive work culture can continue to thrive with your leadership!

On top of these daily duties, you will also work closely with our Kitchen Manager to place orders during the week such as Coffee orders, Dairy and Alternative Milks, bottled beverages, pastry orders and paper goods/consumables. Inventory management will be your responsibility on these items.

A minimum of 3 years barista experience is required in specialty coffee, plus serving experience is preferred. Not only will you be serving up delicious and beautiful coffee, but you will be providing amazing customer service in a cheerful manner to the local community, giving our customers some friendly banter to start their day.

Compensation based on experience. We also provide free shift meals (and they are delicious)!

• Latte art skills MUST-HAVE!

• Able to work well as part of a team, and lead that team to success!
• Exceptional customer service with a warm welcoming attitude
• Strong organizational skills, ability to plan ahead and predict the needs of the cafe
