East One Coffee Roasters is a Roastery, Cafe and All Day Eatery in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn and Cafe in Chelsea, NYC. We believe in the seamless integration of high-quality preparation and memorable hospitality. This approach is emphasised in both our coffee and food programs. We are currently in the process of revamping our Chelsea shop with the intention of bringing East One to the forefront of specialty coffee and establishing the corner of 23rd and 7th as the next go to Coffee Mecca in NYC.

The opportunity has come up for an experienced Cafe Manager to join our team at our Chelsea location. As Cafe Manager, you will oversee the day to day running with focus on both coffee Quality, food quality and great hospitality.

We are looking for the following Skills and Attributes from potential candidates:

-Have at least 1-year experience in a similar role with a strong passion for food & coffee, 1st class customer service and an excellent attention to detail and organised follow through
-Ability to both execute daily sales and staff routines as well as thinking outside of the box in order to develop our business.
-Competent level of coffee knowledge and skill set.
-Inspire team around you to work consistently at the highest standards whilst always pushing to improve what we do, and doing it with fun.
-Hospitality is a must with a heavy focus on relationship building, staff retention, and outstanding interpersonal skills.
-Experienced in a fast-paced demanding environment with a sense of urgency to accomplish set goals and targets
-Maintain appropriate stock levels to ensure service is uninterrupted.
-Work to a monthly budget of staffing costs and general purchases with experience working with a departmental P&L statement.
-Comfortable with interviewing, hiring as well as identifying growth opportunities and keeping staff on track with pursuing them.
-Suggest ideas for new products and keep an eye on current trends both in food and coffee ensuring that the offer is kept fresh and engaging.
-Keep wastage to a minimum and ensure stock checks are regularly carried out and purchasing is done efficiently.
-Offer promotional ideas and be prepared to implement them
-Food Handlers Certified is essential.
