Shop is looking for an experienced Cafe Supervisor! We are an Australian cafe based in Williamsburg with a focus on delicious food and specialty coffee. We are a small, collaborative team that loves our community and we’re looking for a person with similar values.

Having a warm, welcoming personality, enthusiasm, a passion for coffee and food and great vibes is a must! As the face of the cafe you’ll be a confident and positive point of contact for our regulars and new customers, and you must be able to comfortably work solo as well as get along with other staff members. Great communication skills required.

2+ years in specialty coffee is a must and some managerial experience is beneficial. Compensation will be based on experience. This is a tipped position. NYC Food Handler’s Certificate is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

– Collaboration with GM on coffee ordering / beverage menu development

– Checking inventory levels and placing orders with suppliers when required

– Point of contact for customers/authorities

– Ensuring fellow staff members are keeping busy!

Barista / Serving:

– Making the entire beverage menu to order, consistent presentation of beverages – latte art skills!

– Confident use of Square POS, Doordash and Gruhub tablets

– Running completed orders out to customers, clearing tables

Food Handling:

– Keeping pastry cabinet stocked and clean

– Occasional food preparation (smoothies, açaí bowls)

Maintenance & Cleaning:

– Keeping up with dishes throughout the day

– End of day pack down of bar, espresso machine

– Re-stock

– Moving and cleaning rubber floor mats, mopping floors,

– Daily cleaning of outside area, bathroom and cafe

Dept of Health / COVID:

– Ensuring DOH and COVID standards and protocols are being kept and met

– Daily checks on all DOH requirements (sanitation bucket, fridge thermometers)
