About us:
As one of NYC’s leading specialty coffee providers, Black Fox Coffee is a progressive organization seeking like-minded individuals to join our team.
We are currently hiring a Co-General Manager to work in collaboration with our current General Manager of our flagship location at 70 Pine Street in Fidi, Manhattan.
Who we’re looking for:
Black Fox Coffee’s multi-roaster approach provides an unrivaled variety and constantly rotating selection, of some of the best coffees from roasters across the United States and the world, including our very own coffee that we roast locally.
We are seeking an experienced General Manager that is passionate about and excited by coffee, who has a strong desire to keep learning and growing in coffee and who can motivate and lead a team with a positive energy.
Note – this is an “in-service” role and you will be expected to prepare drinks, serve customers and maintain the cafe throughout day-to-day operations.

– Experience in specialty coffee environments a plus
– Maintain quality standards and stay within parameters set by our Director of Coffee
– Develop strong working relationships with your team and maintain an inclusive work environment
– Understanding that no job is too big or too small and an ability to work across both Front of House and Coffee sections
– Passion for providing an exceptional hospitality experience
Responsibilities:
– General Cafe – assisting FOH with service, clearing tables and general cafe duties
– Stock Management – maintain stock levels and ordering via external/internal vendors
– Work Environment –maintain work area and equipment to a high degree of cleanliness
– Staff Management – manage a growing team of Baristas, FOH staff and kitchen/BOH
– Administrative – working with vendors to ensure cafe is maintained to a high standard and we are able to maintain our A Grade from NYC Health
Requirements:
– Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role with experience leading a team of at least 5 people
– Proven ability to multitask and prioritize
– Ability to dial in Espresso and Filter Coffee
– NYC Food Handlers Permit (or willing to obtain one after hire)
– Must be available to work 40 hours a week *including weekends* with open availability.
