Event Barista – Melu’s Cafe (Coffee Cart Catering, NYC & Surrounding Areas)

Melu’s Cafe is hiring a personable, skilled Event Barista to join our coffee catering team! We bring specialty coffee and matcha to Corporate Events, Brand Activations and private events throughout New York City and beyond, and we’re looking for someone who can represent our brand with warmth, professionalism, and great coffee!

What You’ll Do:

– Prepare and serve espresso drinks and matcha beverages at events, with knowledge of proper technique and following our quality standards
– Dial in espresso to ensure consistent, high-quality shots throughout service
– Ability to perform basic latte art
– Assist with set up and pack up of our coffee cart in different locations, including helping to lift and load the espresso machine, grinder, and other supplies
– Provide excellent hospitality to create a great guest experience, represent the Melu’s Cafe brand and aesthetic at every event

What We’re Looking For:

– Prior barista experience (specialty coffee shop background preferred)
– Knowledgeable about coffee and matcha
– Responsible, punctual, detail-oriented, charismatic, well-spoken with strong customer service and communication skills
– Performs well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask and problem-solve on the fly
– Comfortable following instructions and working as part of a small team

Pay & Schedule:

– Part-time, event-based work
– Hourly rate of $30
– Event locations vary – throughout NYC and occasionally outside the city
– Barista may meet the team directly at the event location (if accessible) or at our warehouse in Bayside, Queens to load up before heading out in the van
