Full-Time Coffee lead
Job Description
Public Records is a vegan restaurant, bar, event space, live music venue, nightclub, record store, and is looking to hire an all-star barista to run the gorgeous cafe! We believe in excellence and attention to detail, striving to be the best in every aspect of our business. Our team works closely together to ensure success and we are excited to bring on like-minded individuals as we expand and ramp back up to operate in full swing.
The Cafe ~
– We serve Deep Coffee Roasters, a 3rd wave roaster from Marseille, France. We are the only cafe in America to serve their beans!
– This space is both a cafe and a store for a hand-selected array of records, magazines, and PR merch
– During brunch service, all coffee and tea drinks are made in the cafe for the restaurant
– We have wine and kombutcha on tap, as well as beer offerings that sell in the cafe
– As our establishment is completely vegan, we only offer califia oat milk and almond milk for milk based beverages
– We use La Marzocco GB5 espresso machine, Peak grinder (for espresso), and an EK mini for drip. We have a Hario V60 for pourovers and Acaia scales
Job Requirements:
– Top notch ability to dial in espresso, drip coffee, iced coffee, and pourovers (due to the water differences in the two countries, we can’t rely on the specs from the roasters, so you must be able to dial in a good shot on your own. Use of scales is absolutely necessary)
– Ability to develop specialty drinks with whole ingredients (must be comfortable making your own syrups and batching them every week)
– Weekend availability a must
– Accountable for showing up on time and responsible for completing all tasks needed in the cafe
– Must have excellent cleaning habits and keep the cafe in prime condition
– Leadership skills ~ as we start opening back up every day, we will be hiring more baristas and it will be your job to train and get them up to standards
– Takes initiative to ensure any problems that arise are solved right away
