Job Description

The Role:
This role supports the coffee operations team by ensuring all coffee related standards in shops are maintained to the highest level, all matters and changes related to coffee delivery in Pret shops in the US are executed in a thorough and clear manner and supports the business in growing coffee sales.

Scope of the Role:
Managing and driving a team of 3 Pret Coffee Ambassadors, quality time will be spent analyzing and reviewing results for coffee confidence visits to get under the bonnet of the coffee people issues in the shops around the world and understand ways to drive improvements in coffee quality and consistency.
Providing Operations teams with accurate, timely information highlighting and issues and trends to work through together to address. Working with Operations, Shops and various Pret teams throughout the US and the UK, the job holder will have excellent communication skills, be a highly organized, fast thinking, adaptable and concise team player, dedicated fully to working with the coffee team to ensure excellent, consistent coffee quality around the world.
The role will assist the coffee team globally by ensuring the implementation of coffee & marketing product launches into the Pret estate. Working with suppliers, shops and various Pret teams throughout the US and the UK, the job holder will have excellent communication skills, be a highly organized, fast thinking, adaptable and concise team player, dedicated fully to working with the coffee team to ensure excellent coffee delivery around the world.

Responsibilities:
Proud, professional Baristas in shops delivering amazing service with consistent coffee.

• Develop strong competent Coffee Ambassadors who have excellent standards & performance in role
• Management of Coffee Confidence Visits (CCV’s), including rota monitoring & management of Ambassadors, ensuring CCV’s are carried out in a timely manner to all shops
• Use data to report and analyse CCV’s monthly as a whole and by operations area to identify opportunities for improvement
• Review Ideal Family Tree in line with business needs
• Monthly 121’s with Operations Managers to ensure the RPP for Barista role and standards in shops
• Ensure all T&D materials are kept current and up to date
• Management of Barista workshops and Coffee Confidence sessions
• Management of kick offs, week 3 and week 7 checks on Barista in training to ensure GM is owning the training and on track
• Management of Barista Graduations and ensure standards are met
• Management of 6 week follow up on performance since graduation and prior to probation end
• Work with coffee team to manage weekly training/focus content to shops via WP/Ambassadors

Work with Food Technical, Buying, Marketing & Operations teams to ensure seamless launch of new coffee products into shops.

• Manage the development process of NPD related to BPD from brief proposal through to Food & Drink meeting approval to Show & Tell
• Update launch trackers and mange coffee team to launch process and clear identified time frame
• Work with marketing to update coffee boards (prices and content) in line with agreed product launches
• Manage communication to shops at time of launch and provide presentations to cascade to operations teams
• Ensure all HTC’s are kept up to date and current
• Share information globally on coffee initiatives and support on launches as required

Contributing to longer term development plans.
• Identify areas where equipment, methods, shop training, processes and standards should be changed to improve coffee quality and consistency
• Work with range & pricing team to analyze BPD transaction decline in categories and propose changes
• Ensure benchmarking data on competitor range & price exists on a bi-annual basis
• Carry out competitor observations
• Keep up to date with current coffee trends and identify opportunities
• Assist in the writing of relevant standards / training

Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the coffee industry in management level
• Experience and knowledge of coffee history, growing, developing and blend creation
• Passion and love for coffee
• Ability to learn new skills quickly
• Uses their own initiative and capable of working with minimum supervision
• Good communication skills to articulate solutions to all levels of shop team
• Ability to build positive working relationships
• Organized
• Committed to continuous improvement
• Ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of Pret people
