Paloma is seeking a hard-working, detail-oriented coffee enthusiast to join our roasting/production team. The job would comprise Wednesday afternoons for QC (cupping) and prep, and and all-day Thursdays for roasting and production.

Experience with roasting would be a huge boon (and could potentially open up a more significant roasting role), although not at all required; further, if interested in roasting, there could be an opportunity to learn the craft from our Head Roaster after 6 months of exceptional performance.

Primary job duties are to assist the Head Roaster with aspects of production, including but not limited to:
– labeling bags and organizing during pre-production
– lifting bags of green coffee (must be able to lift at least 80lbs).
– weighing out batches of green coffee according to the production schedule
– pulling samples from each roasted batch, and clearly labeling each sample
– using a color meter to take color readings of roasted samples
– filling and sealing retail and bulk coffee bags with a weigh-and-fill machine and heat-sealer
– preparing all bagged coffees in cases for delivery, and labeling appropriately
– cleanup

$20/hr with room for growth.
