The coffee trainer helps oversee the beverage program at the restaurants, ensuring that staff is properly trained in the mechanics of equipment use and maintenance, beverage construction, basic coffee knowledge, and adherence to company standards of quality and hospitality.
Duties Include:
Training all staff to use semi-automatic espresso machines
Teaching staff to construct all beverages, including seasonal specialty beverages
Training staff in basic coffee knowledge
Work with staff to improve speed, efficiency, cleanliness and quality on bar
Emphasize customer service above all, and maintaining company wide hospitality standards
Work with staff to improve beverage presentation and latte art
Work with Coffee Program Lead to further develop and build training program
Work with store managers to schedule training for all new hires
Regularly check in at all restaurants to support, and ensure quality standards are being adhered to
Provide support at all equipment installs
Assist with quality control/recipe assessment and development as requested
Various other duties as directed
Qualified candidates will:
Possess 1-2 years coffee training experience
Be enthusiastic about coffee and eager to share their excitement with others
Be a highly skilled barista with excellent drink construction/latte art skills
Be excited to train staff with little to no prior coffee knowledge
Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Be a team player, willing to take direction/constructive criticism
Be able and willing to jump on bar and help make drinks when needed
Have professional and well-groomed presentation
Full time – 5 days/week – must be willing to work some weekends
