This position is for a serious, expert-level barista with management experience who is looking for the next step in a career in specialty coffee.

We are a local NYC based bakery and coffee shop with major expansion plans. The Corporate Barista is a newly created position and will work closely with the Director of Operations and owners.

YOU:
– Love being a barista, are very knowledgeable on all things coffee related
– Understand the nuances of what makes a great shot, skilled at steaming milk, micro foaming, latter art
– Have at least 5-6 years experience in the coffee world as a barista in specialty cafes and coffee shops
– Are a coffee geek on all aspects, from beans to equipment knowledge
– Well spoken, confident, love training and teaching, a “people person”
– Creative, smart, and extremely passionate

US:
– We’re very passionate artisan bread and pastry bakers in NYC with a few cafes and more on the way
– We take coffee very seriously and want the best to offer alongside our high quality pastries & sandwiches
– Our coffee partners are Stumptown Roasters
– We use Mod Bar, the next generation of coffee bars
– Our management team is very smart, hardworking
– We continuously work on making our offerings better and more exciting, no plateaus

REQUIREMENTS:
• Have a minimum of 5 years experience in a high volume, high end, specialty coffee shop/cafe
• Knowledge and love of making coffee, dialing in, pulling shots, pulling shots, micro foams, latte art
• Recruit and hire baristas
• Create a friendly environment to train and continuously mentor our baristas in all our locations
• Full knowledge of different equipment, machines, small wares, bar ergonomics, etc
• Friendly, positive attitude, service minded, a people person, engaging
• Projects include: creating our official Coffee Manual, initiate food pairing programs, seasonal specials, etc
• NYC Food Handler’s card
• Must have open availability, including early mornings, nights, weekends
• This is a hands-on position, you will be working a coffee bar
• Willingness to travel
• Three year commitment

Compensation: Salary + great benefits
