Patisserie Counter Service/ Barista full-time position

WHO WE ARE
The Fashion Chef is a couture custom cake company located in the Industry City Food Hall in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. Our facility includes a patisserie, professional kitchen, design studio and offices.
We serve La Columbe coffee in addition to delicious café-style food morning through midday.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Fashion Chef is seeking an experienced barista/ counter service professional to work in our front of house retail patisserie. The position includes cashier duties. Must be personable, team oriented, highly organized and polished.
This is a full time position, 40 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES
True coffee connoisseur with the ability to make all coffee drinks quickly and accurately.
Vigilantly follow all NYC DOHMH food safety standards.
Friendly and professional counter service appropriate to an upscale patisserie environment.
Use POS system and handle customer transactions.
Represent and promote The Fashion Chef brand with integrity and panache.

EXPERIENCE
Professional barista skills required.
(Please note: Applicants without prior professional barista experience will not be considered).
Previous cashier experience needed.
Excellent customer service skills are a must.
Food handler’s certification preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$12.00/ hour + tips, sick pay and paid vacation after certain milestones.
