Job Description

101-year-old New York City roaster, Dallis Bros. Coffee is seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) with a passion for coffee. This position is available immediately for our Long Island City (NY) office, located near Court Square.

This is an in-house position (not field sales) and typical work hours are from 8am to 5pm, with occasional need for extended hours.

Customer service representatives at Dallis Bros. Coffee are responsible for inbound and outbound calls to customers, taking orders, upselling, resolving customer issues and communicating back and forth with customers, service technicians, salespeople, accounting and managers.

There’s a sales component to this job, which includes commission on incremental sales.

CSRs are critical to our daily operations. All the orders we ship from our roastery go through their hands.

The ideal candidate will:

– Enjoy talking to customers on the phone
– Communicate verbally and in writing in a proficient, professional and pleasant manner
– Provide existing customers with the highest standard of customer service
– Be able to multitask – you’ll be often speaking to over 50 people per day, soliciting orders, taking orders, answering emails and processing paperwork.
– Be a strong team player
– Demonstrate the ability to work independently and efficiently
– Be organized
– Be able to upsell and describe our products well
– Cold call coffee shops and restaurants
– Resolve customer issues in a timely and empathetic manner
– Organize daily action plans to achieve individual goals and report to the Vice President of Sales
– Participate in training opportunities on products and services and attend sales meetings

Qualifications
– Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer service position
– Flexible and adaptable to a work environment which will require many different tasks in one day
– Have an authentic passion for coffee
– Self-motivated and able to manage time efficiently
– Have excellent communication and computer skills
– Knowledge of Salesforce.com is a bonus
– Proficiency in Spanish is a bonus

This is a full time position, with Monday through Friday daytime work hours (with no weekend work). Competitive compensation includes salary, commission and benefits.
