Education and Beverage MANAGER
The Education and Beverage Manager is responsible for supporting staff in the day-to-day operations of the cafe, in accordance with the highest standards of excellence in service and food & beverage preparation. They will direct and coach on company policies, objectives and initiatives for their stores/teams. They will manage the training lifecycle of both retail team members and assist with training for wholesale accounts. They will establish and maintain standards and SOPs by fine tuning the curriculum and methodology, facilitating team member training, conducting regular QC in stores and making recommendations to the Retail Manager regarding team member performance management. They will manage seasonal and specialty beverage development timeline and logistics, as well as any new coffee offerings served in store. They are expected to maintain close communication with the CEO, Wholesale Department, Retail Leadership, Operations Director and Marketing Team.
Roles and responsibilities:
-Inspect stores regularly and ensure that all stores are maintained clean, organized, and well-stocked environment both behind the counter, in storage spaces, and customer areas and taking corrective action is taken as necessary (short-term and long-term)
-Promote and practice safe work habits, identify and resolve workplace hazards, and document any incidents or accidents at the store
Provide thoughtful feedback regarding staff schedules (short-term and long-term)
-Stay informed regarding any changes to the coffee or food program (including changes to the coffee menu, any new pastries, food or beverage items, etc.) to help reinforce drink standards and expectations and to ensure that all staff are able to communicate effectively with customers about our offerings
-Perform preventative maintenance
-Monitor and oversee visual standards and keeps close communication with the Creative Team
-Manage documents, both digital and hard copy, within the Retail Organization
-Manage coffee QC program for all locations
-Check to ensure weekly DOH checks and completed
-Monitor expiration dates of all products, report imminently expiring products to Procurement and moving product between stores as directed
-Facilitate new hire trainings, follow up trainings and barista audits
-Monitor slack communication, respond to all queries in a timely fashion, document and escalate any issues
-Assist with callout coverage and on the floor Retail assistance as needed
-Develop seasonal beverage offerings, and maintain associated timelines, costing and training documents and schedule
-Assist in selecting specialty beverage offerings in store (single origin coffees, seasonal teas, etc) and develop related recipes and SOPs
-Conduct new hire observation in store and provide coaching
-Conduct barista audits and provide feedback to retail leadership
-Streamline company-wide education processes and curriculum to ensure uniformity across the board
-Assist with new product R&D
-Work closely with Wholesale Department (Service and Education teams) to help troubleshoot and diagnose partner issues and facilitate solutions, including regarding coffee preparation, equipment knowledge and product selection
-Utilize all information available, including financial reports and information systems, to inform recommendations and actions
-Pitch in where necessary to achieve great results, including speaking up and thoughtfully highlighting opportunities to the CEO and Retail Leadership
-Implement corporate programs, new product launches, events and promotions
-Manage special projects as directed by the CEO

Compensation & Benefits
-$67,000 – $77,000 DOE
-Four weeks paid vacation
