Job Description

We are looking for an educator to join our growing team! This position will be responsible for leading training sessions for Devoción retail staff and wholesale partners, and play an integral role in monitoring coffee quality. The educator will report to the Director of Education and requires travel within NYC and occasional out of state travel.

Primary Responsibilities
 Execute education and training for Devoción baristas, wholesale partners, and their staff on an on-going basis
 Conduct monthly quality control visits for Devoción wholesale partners
 Monitor quality of Devoción retail stores
 Correspond with training progress through daily communication with the Director of Education
 Maintain quality through practice of cupping with the Director of Education and Master Roasters
 Maintain our training lab
 Represent Devoción at events and trade shows
 Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment for all identities and learning styles

Qualifications
 Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
 Comfortable with public speaking
 Have a minimum of 3 years working in specialty coffee, leadership or training experience preferred
 Solid SCA standard cupping skills
 Have a friendly and patient attitude, with the ability to work with baristas of varying skill levels
 Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
 Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

Compensation
$20.00/hr, plus benefits
