The Brooklyn Roasting Company, purveyors of New York’s best quality Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance and Organic certified and sustainable coffees is seeking an Espresso Machine and Coffee Brewer technician.

Job Description
The Technician works with Wholesale Account Representatives and Service Manager – to inspect, repair and perform periodic preventive maintenance on Espresso, Brewing, Grinding and Water Filtration systems.
The Technician is responsible for maintaining customer relationships in their territory through the following basic business integrity such as:
- On-time service
- Professional representation
- Timely communication
- Descriptive and accurate paperwork and completing the service provided correctly the first time – every time.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the completion of all work in the assigned territory according to customer and company requirements.
- Ensure strong customer loyalty through professional and reliable service.
- Complete accurate inspections, service and maintenance of equipment in order to maintain equipment operation and extend equipment life.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks as established by the manufactures.
- Perform consistent, quality service throughout the assigned territory.
- Communicate clear and accurate information documenting the service provided and the results.
- Work with Wholesale Account Representatives and Service Manager to ensure that workloads are managed correctly and efficiently.
- Communicate in a clear and timely manner with Wholesale Account Representatives and Service Manager to assure the highest levels of customer service.
- Adhere to all safety rules – be safe on and off the job site. Be cautious and careful when driving.
Job Qualifications
- Sufficient technical knowledge and ability to install, repair and maintain commercial espresso equipment, primarily La Marzocco and Faema espresso machines.
- Sufficient technical knowledge and ability to install, repair and maintain commercial coffee brewing and coffee grinding equipment as well as hot water systems. Fetco and Bunn experience preferred.
- Strong electrical knowledge is a must including Ohm’s Law and resistance and power calculations
- Ability to use digital clamp-on meter for diagnosis and repair
- Ability to read schematics and diagrams
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of basic plumbing required
- Willingness to work in customer locations (coffee houses, restaurants, cafes, etc.) and service shop.
- Must be passionate about coffee. Tasting is the final process in all repairs.
- Barista experience is a plus
- Ability to read schematics and diagrams
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of Brooklyn and Manhattan street addresses and driving directions
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts, some weekends/holidays.
