Job Description

Paloma is seeking an experienced barista with extensive experience in high-end specialty coffee. The right person has a great attitude, experience working in a fast-paced/detail-oriented environment, takes great pride in hospitality and has a knowledge base of coffee origins, processes and extraction methods. While some coffee experience is definitely required, we value attitude and work ethic above everything else.

Who we’re looking for:
-Minimum 3, ideally 5+ years experience in high-volume specialty coffee
-Experience working with multiple coffee origins and roast levels
-Experience dialing-in espresso and filter for a rotating menu of coffees
-Ability to guide customers through an extensive coffee menu
-A love of hospitality and a natural sense of urgency at work
-Eagerness to learn and help evolve our coffee program
-Must have NYC Food Handlers Certificate
-Open availability/flexibility in scheduling, must be available weekends.

Starting pay: $17-$19/hr + very good tips.
Hourly range for baristas within the company is $17-$20/hr.
Tips average $15+ per hour.
