Super Nice Coffee and Bakery is a specialty coffee shop and bakery serving Spanish Harlem with some of the best coffee and baked goods around. We opened this retail shop because we are passionate about coffee and baking super delicious things to eat with coffee. Everything we serve in the shop to eat is baked on site. We believe in making super nice things and are really excited about sharing them with the world.

We are searching for experienced, talented baristas who are passionate about specialty coffee, great food, and making people happy. We’re open from 730a-600p; shifts are roughly 6hrs each.

Some Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for opening or closing the shop (key holder position).
* Dialing in espresso as needed throughout the shift.
* Making syrups, batching iced teas, chai, and other drinks.
* Cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance of all coffee equipment.
* General shop cleaning and restocking.
* Communicate with BOH regarding baked items.
* Keeping shop clean, sanitized, and inspection ready.
* Making menu drinks to order in a timely fashion.
* Expert customer service and ability to take orders on register.
* Occasionally placing small orders (such as milk).
* Receiving and putting orders away.
* Related duties as assigned by Manager.
* You may have to lift somewhat heavy things (up to 50lbs) from time to time.

Some Qualifications:
* You take your coffee seriously. You have an uncompromising passion for all-things coffee.
* You can jump right in and make the perfect cortado; operate a manual espresso machine like a La Marzocco in your sleep; and you’re comfortable dialing in and maintaining consistent product.
* You’re fun to work with and to be around. We’d be happy to wake up early in the morning to work a shift with you, and you’ll always provide our customers with a warm, friendly and welcoming experience.
* You’re approachable, social, and make every customer that walks in the door feel welcome and make sure they leave feel they have just experienced something super nice.
* You’re serious about your craft and you take pride in it. That will likely mean that you have an eye for detail, that you’re proactive, and that you’re invested in what you do. We take what we do really seriously and you’ll be a great fit if you do, too.

Applicant Requirements:
* Have a food handler’s permit issued by NYC DOH (or be willing to obtain one before you start working for us). This is a hard requirement. If you don’t have your certificate, we can’t hire you.
* At least 2 years experience in making quality espresso beverages, including dialing in, maintaining consistent espresso extraction and experience in batch brewing in a Specialty/Third Wave coffee shop. If you don’t have experience in a specialty shop, this job is not for you as we need someone who can jump in immediately.
* Ability to consistently perform and produce excellent quality espresso beverages quickly and under pressure.
* Possess a passion for personalized customer service and developing relationships with customers, as all our baristas must be comfortable with taking customer orders and other aspects of café service.
* Strong team member with an ability to multitask and work with others.
* Would be awesome if you lived in the neighborhood.
