Job Description

Demi-monde is a brand new cafe located at 257 Varet St. near the Morgan L in Bushwick. We serve locally roasted specialty coffee, natural and biodynamic wines, local beers, and small plant-based food options.

We are currently hiring experienced baristas for either part-time or full-time positions. The ideal candidate is a friendly, personable individual who loves all things coffee. Ability to consistently deliver high quality product is key. Must be communicative, have excellent customer service, and positive energy.

Necessary qualifications –

Must have NYC Food Handler’s License

Must be proficient in all aspects of coffee – latte art, dialing-in and calibrating, steaming milk, pulling shots, batch brew, single cup, daily/weekly maintenance, cleaning, back flushing, etc

2+ years of high end barista experience preferred, however quality of work will speak for itself if experience is less than that.

Must be consistent in delivery of all elements of the experience.

Must be a positive person and enjoyable to be around and interact with.

Current soft opening hours are 7-7 with scaling up to full operation of 7-midnight in the coming weeks. Must be able to work weekends, must be open to either the 7 am – 1 pm shift, or the 1 pm – 7 pm shift.
