Job Description

*This is not an entry level position*
*This is not a full time position*

We are a small, espresso focused coffee shop on E27th St in Manhattan. We are very much a local neighborhoodie shop with a solid base of awesome regulars who recognize the quality coffee and excellent service that we provide.

We wish we could exist as a pure espresso bar, but fancy lattes keep the lights on. like most shops now, we have a dozen specialty lattes that contribute greatly to our popularity. no whipped cream chocolate drizzle nightmares but yeah we want you to make them to our recipe. totally cool if you’re not into that, but it’s what we do here.

We are a coffee shop. We are open early in the morning. Most shifts are worked at least partially solo. Not being on time is really a deal breaker.

We are looking for friendly and experienced baristas to join our team on a part-time basis, 1-3 shifts per week. Experienced means you’ve worked in specialty coffee before, you know what good espresso tastes like, you can dial in and do latte art. Baristas must be comfortable working solo for at least part of their shift. Previous experience in specialty coffee is a must, as is a NYC Food Handlers Permit. We start everyone at $18 for the trial month/ $19 if/when you get that permit. we want to make sure the vibe is right for all of us, with raises starting after that first trial month. we deeply value hard-working and loyal staff and strive to meet or beat industry standard pay.

to apply, we don’t need a long AI-written cover letter, just a CV and a quick note as well as any questions for us you might have.

thanks for reading our hiring epic. we look forward to meeting you, whatever your race, ethnicity, national origin, or gender.
