2Beans is a gourmet coffee and chocolate store on Park Avenue, seeking a highly motivated Barista with 3 + years relevant work experience.

The Barista is the purveyor and leader of the 2beans full service and 2go coffee experience. He/she is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service at our full service coffee bar, and our 2go coffee section. He/she is also responsible for the continuing education of our customers and associates about our premium coffee, tea, and drink selections. The 2beans Barista is a true professional that understands and thrives on all of the unique and luxury offerings that the 2beans bar experience has to offer.  He/she is empowered to generate ideas and make decisions that promote a positive customer experience at all times to coincide with the premium offerings in a luxury setting.

Core Responsibilities:

• Makes Great Coffee  :0)
• Greets all customers with a friendly smile.
• Promotes customer relationships by providing quick, friendly, and personal service.
• Initiates dialogue and develops rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks and food items.
• Generates customer satisfaction; and responds appropriately to customer concerns.
• Proactively resolves customer complaints/concerns, escalating such concerns to the manager on duty when warranted.
• Accurately processes transactions through the POS and counts back change to customers.
• Sells and serves baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers as needed.
• Operates and uses all equipment necessary for store operation.
• Works special events when needed.

Product Quality

• Maintains the highest level of standards for all product preparation.

• Adheres to all 2beans recipes and measurements.

• Produces superior product presentation.

• Educates customers on 2beans products and services.

• Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.

Teamwork

• Communicates with coworkers & management to solve problems and improve quality & service.

• Maintains continuous communication with other staff functions (i.e. bar, register etc.) during

peak business hours.

• Works with coworkers and management to effectively implement change.

• Contributes to a positive work environment.

• Assists in the opening and/or closing of the store. Protocol will be provided.

• Works successfully as part of a team.

Initiative

• Makes effort to improve job skills, knowledge and education.

• Takes ownership of processes and quality improvements.

• Initiates suggestive selling and sampling of products.

• Does what needs to be done without being asked.

• Contributes to the profitability of the store via cross merchandising and suggestive selling techniques.

Personal Responsibility/Accountability

• Honors themselves by taking pride in their appearance while adhering to Company dress code.
• Leads by example being on time for every shift and managing bar and 2go section schedules.

• Follows all cash management policies and procedures to ensure accountability of Company funds.
• Adheres to appropriate standards of behavior in the workplace.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Any other duties as assigned by Store Manager, Operating Director, or owners.

Essential Qualifications:

• Must have at least 3+ years work experience as a Barista with all prerequisite expertise and training.
• Computer proficiency in order to operate POS system.
• Excellent verbal communication skill set.
• Ability to perform all reading, written, and arithmetical functions as a part of the 2beans business protocol.
• Must be multifaceted.
• Work varied hours/days based on business needs.
• Food Handler Certificate highly desirable.
