Full-Time Experienced, Passionate Baristas Needed in Greenpoint for New Cafe/Roastery

Job Description

Coffee Check is a cafe/roastery in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Our hours currently are 7am-4pm Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm Sat-Sun.

We’re looking for a coffee nerd who has a knack for customer service, eagerness to learn, and is interested in a long-term, full-time position.

We would also prefer someone who has:

  • More than 5 years experience working in specialty coffee.
  • Has some experience working in a high-volume specialty coffee shop (as we can get quite busy for spurts throughout the day).
  • Has the ability to work 30+ hours a week and can easily get to Greenpoint.

Expectations:

  • Deliver impeccable hospitality to all who walk in to the cafe. Greeting everyone and making them feel like they are well-catered to.
  • Work with the rest of the team to dial in and serve speciality grade, fully traceable, and well-crafted coffee in a variety of forms from espresso, to pour over, to drip, to cold brew, and more.
  • Continue to learn about our coffees and food offerings by joining us in tastings, cuppings, classes, helping to roast the coffee and possible field trips.
  • Support the rest of the team by keeping the cafe running efficiently and maintaining the highest standard of cleanliness and presentation—from cleaning, sweeping, dusting, mopping, removing trash, proper machine cleaning protocols, and more. Even if you’re not asked to.

  • Flexible and willing to help out fellow baristas with shifts when they need time off, as they will absolutely do so for you when you do 🙂
  • Eligible to work in the US and at least 18 years of age or older.
  • NYC Food Handler’s license required.

Compensation:

$25/hour gauranteed (we are a no tipping cafe)
