Field Service Technician
Tradecraft Coffee and Tea Outfitters has an excellent career opportunity for a Service Technician in New York City at a large tech company. This position requires a unique mix of technical aptitude and strong customer service skills, with a high level of professionalism required. As a Tradecraft Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues, performing preventative maintenance, calibrate equipment to manufacture and coffee roaster specifications, initiate quality control checks on various types of espresso, coffee, bean-to-cup, and water machines. Tracking and maintaining inventory is vital to the success in this role, so candidates must have strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
Additional Responsibilities
● Perform on-site troubleshooting and repair equipment
● Proficiency with tools, machinery, electricity, and plumbing
● Able to work in an energetic and diverse environment at various locations in a dense urban environment
● Strong barista skill set
● Extensive Customer Service responsibilities, including customer training and relationship building for both current and potential customers
● Uphold the proper procedures when documenting service tasks, progression of job, and invoicing.
● Maintain parts inventory.
● Participate in manufacturer trainings for new or existing equipment and pass any applicable tests.
● Effective communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
● Ability to act as a Brand Ambassador for all of Tradecraft and Canteen products and services
● Maintain daily communication w/Service Dispatcher and Service Management
● Learn and maintain an understanding of current coffee industry standards through continued in-house training and self-education
Job Requirements
● Minimum 2+ years of technical repair experience
● 2+ year’s experience as a barista at a specialty coffee shop/ cafe
● Technical aptitude for commercial espresso machines, coffee machines, coffee brewers, coffee grinders and water systems
● High School Diploma or GED
● Must have a valid and current driver’s license issued within the United States and be able to drive a company vehicle
Preferred Requirements
● Minimum 2+ years of experience with coffee equipment or similar food/beverage equipment)
● College degree
● Enjoy drinking coffee

• Hazards: worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, and/or exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
• Frequently in close quarters and other confined areas
• Proficient at driving, maneuvering, and parking Company vehicles.
• Physically able to sit for long time periods, driving to/from customer/client locations – often in heavy traffic.

Schedule: Weekdays with off-hours availability

Pay Range
• $24-28 per hour
