About Seekers

Seekers is a specialty coffee roastery, independent bookstore, and cultural event space opening in Kingston, NJ in June 2026. We’re in a historic building on Route 27 — a place that was a public gathering point long before we arrived. We’re trying to honor that.

We roast our own coffee on-site, run a carefully curated bookstore, and partner with Manna Bakery on a food program built around a commissioned Jerusalem sourdough bagel. We are not trying to be a vibe. We are trying to be a place.

The Role

You’ll work the bar — espresso, batch brew, cold brew, and a short signature drinks menu — in a fast bar format that’s efficient and focused. You’ll also be a face of Seekers: the person someone meets on their first visit, or their fiftieth.

We’re looking for people who are genuinely good at the craft and genuinely interested in the broader world — the kind of barista who reads, who asks questions, who makes a regular feel like they belong.

Compensation

We pay $18–$26/hr on a structured payband system. Where you land is based on your experience, demonstrated coffee knowledge, and performance on our internal skills assessments. This isn’t a number we negotiate down from — it’s a system we use to pay people fairly and transparently based on what they actually know and can do.

What we’re looking for

– 1–2+ years of specialty coffee bar experience
– Comfort on espresso machines and confidence in grinder calibration
– Someone organized, communicative, and proud of their station
– A genuine interest in the environment: books, culture, community
– Availability that includes at least one weekend day
– Based in or willing to commute to Kingston, NJ
