Calling all coffee geeks!!! We’re looking for someone who’s as coffee mad as we are!

About Us – This is our first venture in NYC originating from Australia with a string of successful cafes, we’ve aligned ourselves with one of Australia’s best boutique coffee roasters who hold themselves to the highest standard as we do. We can’t wait to share our passion of exceptional coffee and service with this city.

We are not just a coffee shop, we strive to bring a whole experience to NYC with our restaurant caliber food, beverage and cafe culture.

We are looking for a barista who takes pride in their work, is a people person and a team player with a thirst for knowledge and is willing to grow with us.

Location – We’re located at 441 Ninth Ave between 34th & 35th St in a brand new development directly below the Peloton HQ.

Hardware – You’ll be working on a Synesso S300 with an Anfim SPII Grinder for our blend and EK43s for our Single origins. You’ll also be using a PUQpress so all tamping is consistent, fast and doesn’t wear you down over long term tamping.

Hours – currently Monday-Friday. Operating 7am-4pm.
We are looking extend our operation to weekends so availability for the weekends is a must.

– 25-35 Hours available

– Earliest Start 6:30am and Latest finish 4:30pm

Experience – Minimum 2 years working with specialty coffee

What we’re looking for in a Barista –

Great customer service – This is number our number one requirement! We are obsessed with service and creating an experience for our customers whether they’re regulars or first time visitors. We have a 5 star Google rating with over 140 reviews and we aim to set the bar even higher as we grow. We need someone who understands what it means to be hospitable and is able to give a high standard of service.
Fun and personable – Another one of the most important traits for us! We like to work in an environment that’s fun and friendly and where you’re happy to come to work and be surrounded with positivity and good vibes. We want the customers to feel welcomed, relaxed and leave smiling with every visit.
A good knowledge of espresso extraction to dial in dose and grind every morning
Experience working with volume whilst keeping the standards high. Minimum of 2 Years working with specialty coffee. We’re all about fast efficient service so the ability to hustle is essential.
Observant with the ability to monitor the coffee as the conditions change throughout the day and make grind and dose adjustments for consistency with every coffee experience.
Latte art skills – Presentation is as important as the quality of the product, so we expect that the skill level is to pour consistent clean latte art at a fast pace and under pressure.
Is a good multitasker and able to work and interact with customers at the same time whilst maintaining a clean work station.
Show initiative with the ability to self motivate, seize ideas and complete tasks without being prompted. We’re looking for leaders as our management positions will be fulfilled internally so there is plenty of room to grow.
Is creative and proactive being able to offer input and ideas to help the business grow and operate more efficiently. We work as a team and the employees input is just as valuable as the owner’s. We want our staff to be part of the journey and involved in our evolution and success – wether it be operating procedures, menu development or marketing ideas.
