ABOUT THE DROP
The Drop is a new specialty coffee shop and roastery opening in the Financial District. We believe that coffee isn’t a one-time-a-day, exclusive, “just get you through it” beverage. Coffee is for everyone and so are we. With a Bellwether coffee roaster right in the shop, we’re trying to integrate the roasting and brewing facets of our operation as seamlessly as possible to create a complete coffee experience. The atmosphere of the cafe is sunny & bright, with an emphasis on functional, modern design and beautiful hi-tech machinery.

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for an experienced Café Leader and coffee aficionado to work alongside our owners and help create an amazing experience for our guests.

This is an amazing opportunity to help develop a stellar brand and be a part of, what is sure to be, an iconic coffee destination.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating store procedures and processes
• Hiring, training and coaching a staff focused on providing an outstanding experience to each of our guests
• Help develop brand with eyes on expansion. You will have your hand in our growth.
• When our unique café opens, additional duties will include scheduling, inventory and purchasing
• Ensuring a clean, safe work environment for our staff and guests
• Achieving sales targets, KPI’s and maximizing profit
• Providing our guests with a positive, memorable experience each time they enter our café
• Assisting with the development of menu items including espressos, specialty coffee drinks and light fare

Requirements:

In addition to three years’ experience managing in a coffee-based business or cafe, you will:

• Exhibit a high level of coffee knowledge, a true coffee enthusiast!
• Ability to communicate coffee information to guests
• Thrive in high-pressure environments
• Understand kitchen operations
• Be well-organized and detail-oriented
• Demonstrate proficiency in the use of a Point of Sale (POS) system
• Have competency with a computer including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively lead, communicate and train team members
• Be effective problem solving/decision making abilities
• Be accredited by the Department of Health with a Food Protection Certificate
• Ability to create espresso drinks and standard latte art
• Experience with roasting coffee technology, a plus
