GM Position – The General Manager will be the leader of the cafe inspiring co-workers to perform at their best while engaging with customers and developing relationships to create long-standing regular customers.

Role and Responsibilities

– ensuring the doors open and close on time every day.

– ensuring all products are available and up to standard every day.

– scheduling staff

– ordering and keeping inventory on fresh and dry goods

– developing a positive relationship with guests and regulars

– maintaining a high standard of service, cleanliness and quality in all aspects of the business: this includes showing leadership to the staff and setting the example of what the expectations and tolerances are for quality drinks going out, positive interactions with staff, opening and closing procedures etc.

– compliance and enforcement of health codes and practices

– maintaining a positive attitude and providing leadership to staff FOH and BOH

– actively working behind the bar and being cross trained in each position from barista to kitchen to cashier

– increasing guest sales while working on reducing waste and keeping cost in line

– increasing sales through neighborhood outreach, in-store promotions, more efficient service, adding revenue streams though catering etc.

– weekly meetings with owners

– weekly team meetings with staff

– monthly goal meetings with owners

– quarterly review and goal meetings with owners

– the position may require to lift bags or standing for for few hours
