At 12 Matcha, we are on a mission to redefine the matcha experience. We begin our journey in the heart of Noho, Manhattan, where our flagship café will set a new standard for craft matcha. Our commitment is simple: to offer impeccable service and unparalleled quality, creating a matcha experience like no other.
With decades of collaboration with artisans and farmers in Japan, we have secured exclusive supply from a 5th-generation matcha producer, renowned for working with Japan’s most prestigious brands. This product has never before been brought outside Japan. Our flagship store in NYC will not only serve as a place to enjoy high-quality matcha, but also as a community space to explore and discover the art of matcha making.
We invite an experienced General Manager to join us in introducing a matcha experience that embodies elegance, craftsmanship, and innovation.
Role Overview:
The General Manager at 12 Matcha will be a dynamic leader responsible for creating a culture of belonging, exceptional hospitality, and operational excellence while aligning with the company’s goals and values. This role involves driving the overall success of the cafe, including financial performance, customer satisfaction, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
– Drive efficient financial and operational goals, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly.
– Champion outstanding customer service, creating a community through matcha offerings.
– Foster a high-performing team, providing transparent feedback and coaching for continuous improvement.
– Manage day-to-day operations efficiently, including scheduling, ordering, inventory control, and payroll.
– Uphold health, food safety, and environmental sustainability guidelines.
– Collaborate with other divisions to engage the community and deepen guest relationships.
– Maintain high standards of quality for matcha beverages and food items.
– Recruit, hire, and develop staff aligned with the company’s philosophy and values.
– Ensure adherence to labor laws and maintain a safe working environment.
– Lead by example, cultivating a culture of excellence and ethical behavior.
Minimum Requirements:
– 5+ years of proven retail/hospitality experience in cafe/coffee industry
– 2+ years of leadership experience managing a team of 10+ people.
– Knowledge of profit and loss statements, financial management, and computer programs.
– Food Safety Certification, Food Handlers Certification required.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Able to work on weekends, flexible schedule availability for various shifts.
– Training in HongKong headquarter may include.
