Job Description

Uptown Coffee Bar is a new coffee shop opening in West Nyack, about 5 minutes from the Tappan Zee Bridge in Rockland County. We are looking to hire a General Manager to build a strong team and oversee in-store operations. The GM will also work with the founder of UCB to generate ideas for new menu items, promotions, and marketing campaigns.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have an entrepreneurial mindset and at least 2 of years of supervisory experience in a coffee shop or other fast-paced food service environment. Uptown Coffee Bar will be a lifestyle brand with an urban/multicultural vibe. Therefore, the ideal candidate would also have an appreciation for urban/multicultural trends and the ability to connect with a diverse staff and customer base. The ability to speak Spanish is a plus.

This role will provide the opportunity for career advancement. As Uptown Coffee Bar grows, the scope of the GM role will likely grow to encompass additional responsibilities associated with brand expansion. Compensation would be increased accordingly.

Job Responsibilities:

•Develop/implement operating procedures which leverage best practices from the QSR industry and high-volume coffee shops like Dunkin’ and Starbucks

•Hire and train a strong team

•Oversee scheduling while ensuring the labor budget is managed efficiently

•Manage inventory effectively and efficiently

•Ensure the equipment used in the store is well-maintained and in good working condition

•Ensure the store is clean and compliant with health and safety standards

Compensation:

The salary for this position is $48,000-$55,000, depending on experience. Please note there is also the opportunity for an annual bonus if financial targets are achieved
