About us: Busy specialty coffee shop, small-batch coffee roaster & bakery in Greenpoint seeks stellar lead barista. $17-22/hour + great tips + more.

Significant opportunity for professional growth/development in retail, management and production/roasting roles if of interest. We currently have one busy retail shop in Greenpoint, with additional locations under development.

As a pre-requisite for this position, please include the brands and models of espresso machines, brewers, and coffee grinders you have a working knowledge of with your application.

The type of person we’re looking for:
– Methodical with a systematic approach to ones work. Punctual, well organized and posses a can-do attitude.
– Customer-oriented and professional, while maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment and supporting other employees
– Must love coffee, and have at least 5-7 years experience in specialty coffee using manual espresso machines and brewing methods. We welcome experience from independently owned cafes where multitasking is the norm of day-to-day activity.
– Adaptable/flexible, with ability to work weekends

What this job will be like:
– It is a busy, small shop in a high traffic area, and you will be interacting directly with the owner to grow a retail business by executing the best coffee and service in the city.
– As this business was conceived during COVID, the counter is in the doorway with our products in the window, and the customers are greeted from the outside.
– We work in 2-3 person teams and there will be some light food handling. You should have a fairly advanced knowledge of coffee, but not be set in your ways.
– We offer a range of 10-15 coffees of diverse origins at several roast levels, available in rotation on any given day. We will equip you with a working knowledge and vocabulary of each so to guide customers in their selection, have it be a single pour-over or retail purchase of beans by weight.

This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated intermediate to advanced barista looking to expand their career in specialty coffee and grow their responsibilities over time.

Compensation: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year, all in ($17-22/hr + great tips to start).
– We have a model for profit sharing, and after 1 year you choose to opt-in, there is no limit to how much you can earn in this role.
