Stonefruit Espresso + Kitchen is a bustling specialty coffeeshop on Bedford Avenue in BedStuy. As the name implies, our foundation is a strong coffee and tea program, paired with a small plant-based, farm-to-table breakfast and lunch menu, along with house-baked pastries (vegan and/or glutenfree). Plant and flower shop in the back!

We are seeking a Head Barista to be a strong leader for our FoH team, and to report directly to the General Manager. To qualify for this full-time position, you must have specialty coffee experience at a busy cafe, training skills, impressive organizational and cleanliness habits, inter-personal management skills, and a DoH food safety card.

Responsibilities include:
– full time barista shifts
– ordering coffee (Counter Culture), milk, alternative milks, tea, kombucha, and juice weekly (keeping the cafe in adequate stock of everything at all times)
– training new barista staff so they are confident and ready to represent Stonefruit, keep coffee standards exceptional, and uphold all DoH standards
– assessing dry goods (disposables, etc) and placing order with GM weekly`
– keeping FoH and storage room extremely organized, stocked, and clean
– help team stay ready for DoH visits
– support GM in refining customer visits, cafe flow, and team morale
– assist with coordination of scheduling
– above all, contributing to and setting the example of the TEAMWORK atmosphere at Stonefruit

Salary is an elevated hourly wage + tips.
