Café Kitsuné New York is looking for a new fox to join the family!

We are hiring a HEAD BARISTA for our first NYC location.

Café Kitsuné pays tribute to the pleasure of enjoying a quality coffee in iconic locations, currently Tokyo’s Aoyama district and Paris’ gardens of the Palais Royal. Loyal to its origins, Café Kitsuné’s menu also offers in addition to coffee, French-Japanese specialties. Five years after its creation, Café Kitsuné successfully launched a collection of tableware, ready-to-wear and accessories.

Head Barista must be level average to experienced and love to practice art latte. We are looking for motivated people to join our teams and continue to live the passion of Coffee in the Kitsuné spirit. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Maintain Café Kitsuné’s high standards in coffee preparation.
Assist with managing front of house teams and ensuring positive guest experience.
Along with external culinary marketing agency, seek to grow customer base and increase store traffic by collaborating on promotions within and outside the store as well as maintaining functional, efficient, pleasant restaurant environment and high-quality food and beverage offerings.
Lead and model overall culture, values, mission, and spirit of the company. Is knowledgeable about the ideals and principles of Café Kitsuné and ensures that our story is appropriately conveyed by staff and store environment.
Help to create positive, enthusiastic, and well-trained restaurant culture by providing an informed, honest, and optimistic example for the team.
Respond appropriately to ideas, concerns, complaints, and comments from management and staff.
Model proper attendance, punctuality, customer service, and overall attitude.
Ensure store appearance is maintained at all times, including café seating area,condiment bar, and FOH.
The position is based in NYC, and the Barista will report directly to the General Manager, working in close collaboration with supporting corporate departments in Paris.

Desired Skills & Experience:
2-3 years in cafes/restaurants
Strong knowledge of coffee
Leadership skills
Ability to motivate people to achieve objectives
Supreme commitment to customer service
Fashion industry / commercial awareness
Flexible working retail hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
Food handlers permit, ideal not mandatory
Start date: Fall 2019

Salary:
Hourly rate commensurate based on experience
