We’re opening a new Specialty/Third Wave coffeeshop in the NYU area, and accepting resumes for several barista positions. For employees, we’ll provide several days of training with an SCAE barista trainer.

This area does high volume, and if you can get excited about connecting with new and curious customers about specialty coffee, we can get excited about you. Part- and full-time both available. Scheduling is very flexible – shifts are first come, first serve, so let us know your availability.

Compensation is hourly and depends heavily on experience and training.

The only requirements: that you drink coffee, are very willing to learn, and that you’re deeply friendly person who wants to put other people in a good mood.

Job description:

– Work on a two- or three-person small team to make espresso and coffee drinks with state-of-the-art equipment

– Interact with and befriend customers constantly while managing orders and payment

– Clear and clean cafe and equipment with the rest of the team

– Work continually to hone operation by working with your colleagues at the bar, the manager, the trainer, and the entire cafe team

– Represent the fledgling cafe with friendliness and a willingness to educate and involve customers in their cup of coffee

Experience as a barista, with hospitality, coffee roasting, or simple coffee connoisseurship is a big, big plus.
