Gotan cafe with locations in Midtown West, TriBeCa , Chelsea & Williamsburg is looking for a Head of Coffee Program, to lead the team of baristas in all locations.

Responsibilities include: Developing the coffee program for the stores , training of the staff, hiring the new baristas, developing the structure for the new stores and more.

Must have  extensive espresso/coffee knowledge including understanding the art and science behind pulling a “perfect” shot, “dialing” in, different brewing methods, and quality control of the drinks according to our guidelines. We will be offering the finest coffee by Counter Culture Coffee. Our Head of Coffee Program will be responsible for rotating and purchasing coffee and espresso beans accordingly as well as retail items for our guests.

Requirements:

Must have at least 5 years of experience in a third wave-esque coffee shop
Purchasing experience for a retail coffee shop
Managing skills to oversee at least 8 baristas
Exceptional hospitality and communication skills
Friendly “yes” attitude and strong work ethic
NYC Food Handler’s License is preferred.
Attention to detail and to cleanliness of the bar
Extensive latte art craftsmanship
Master of all brewing methods (V-60, Chemex, Aeropress, Cold brew)

We are offering a full time position, manager level, work in both locations, Bonuses and other options.
