Kettl tea is a premier Japanese tea company based in New York City. Our primary goal is to bring exceptional tea, design and service to our patrons. Joining the Kettl team will provide the unique experience of working in a multifaceted work environment that combines retail, a cafe, and a full service tea bar. Kettl is a growing company that is looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals who are interested in learning about Japanese tea and tea culture, and are excited to share that enthusiasm with customers and co-workers.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Responsible for learning and maintaining company standards and protocols.
• Responsible for learning, understanding, and being able to speak knowledgeably about Kettl’s offering of tea and tea teaware..
• Operates scales, timers, water towers, point of sale systems, and mobile payment systems.
• Restocks all areas of store including coffee bar, & back rooms
• Performs opening, closing, and mid-day tasks.
• Responsible for learning and perfecting latte art.
• Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness of the store through things such as but not limited to sweeping , mopping, cleaning drains, taking out trash, surface cleaning, and dishes.
• Provides guests with a memorable experience.
• Responsible for taking guest orders and ensuring a complete and accurate order.
• Resolves guest complaints with tact and professionalism or alerts the attending leader on staff to assist.
• Responsible for receiving and signing for orders from suppliers.
• Receives deliveries and checks for quality of items delivered as well as accuracy of delivery based on invoice.
• Responsible for working in a high volume environment where efficiency, service, and quality must be maintained – makes each drink with care.
• Maintains health department standards within the store.
• Abides by the employee dress code protocol.
• Displays a positive attitude, passion for Tea, and believes each drink brings value to the customer.
Qualifications:
• Department of Health Food Handlers license preferred
• Time management skills
• Oral and written communication skills
• Professionalism skills•
• Ability to compromise and collaborate with others
