Job Description

Coffee Project New York is always looking for passionate Lead Barista to join our growing team. You will work alongside our hospitality-focused coffee culture that is warm, inclusive and welcoming to everyone.

Lead barista position range from $19 – $23 per hour, plus tips. Our starting rate is minimum $19.00 per hour during training (2 weeks) and $20 after training period, with a 30 days probation and re-evaluation. Our hourly tips range from $10-$15 per hour. Food Handlers is a must.

This position is for baristas with a minimum of 2 year of experience in a manual environment, and must have Sat, Sun and Monday availability. Baristas will need fluency in using scale and manually measuring shots. Each new hire will be first trained in our academy regardless of experience before dispatching to their assigned location.

  • Supports the team and management with daily tasks to ensure smooth service
  • Has a passion for specialty coffee and can learn extensively about our menu and the products served.
  • Weekend availability is required.
  • Enjoys hospitality, has an upbeat temperament, and is a team player in a busy, upscale café setting.
  • Performs reliably at a high level with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
Major duties include:
  • All baseline barista role of making coffee, service, and cleaning
  • Lead the team and maintain a positive, professional and collaborative team environment
  • Shift operation training as needed
  • Dial in coffee and sharing information about our coffee with team
  • Maintain store operation and standards
  • Weekly inventory count
