Job Description

We are Nolita Mart & Espresso Bar, a well-liked neighborhood espresso bar at the cusp of NoLIta, Little Italy, and Chinatown. We use mostly Stumptown coffee beans and other artisan roasters/third wave and Battenkill Valley Creamery milk. Coffee is ground on an automatic Mazzer grinder and shots are pulled on a semi auto La Marzocco GB5. We also operate a hand pour over bar using Japanese Bee House drippers, clever, siphon, and cold brew our iced coffee on a Filtron PRO system and siphon drip. We serve a limited prepared food selection of morning pastries, sandwiches, and salad. The shop has minimal seating; most customers are grab n’go and regulars.

We are seeking an experienced full time or part time barista. He / She will be able to work independently and under minimal supervision, handle a register, wash and cleanup, understand food handling (but food handling license NOT necessary), and provide friendly customer service.

The successful candidate will be super neat and clean to the point of anal retentivitis. He or she must have a passion for the craft and the desire to pull the perfect shot consistently, ability to pour latte art is a big plus. We are willing to train in latte art as long as you have prior barista experience using a semi manual espresso machine.
