Job Description

Paloma is seeking an expert barista with a great attitude and friendly personality for our Greenpoint locations. Someone who shares our passion for connecting to the community through exceptional coffee, delicious baked goods and warm, personable customer service.

Who we’re looking for:
-Minimum 6, preferably 8-10 years experience in high volume specialty coffee. Management, lead barista, head barista experience a plus.
-Experience working for a specialty roaster a plus, knowledge of light roast single-origin coffees and ability to describe and sell them
-Knowledge of various brew methods such as pour-over, aeropress, espresso, batch brew, cold brew
-Eagerness to learn and adopt our particular coffee program and be a champion its details
-Can maintain composure and efficiency in fast-paced service
-Builds great relationships with coworkers and customers.
-Ability to stay on task when working alone or as part of a team.
-Great attention to detail.
-Keeps very clean workspace
-Must have NYC Food Handlers Certificate
-Open availability, flexibility in scheduling

Our starting pay range for a lead barista role is $17-19/hr based on demonstrable skills and experience.

Tips are typically an additional $16+ per hour.
