Job Description

We need a great barista who brings something extra to the job – the desire and ability to build the business. A great job for someone who would like to have their own cafe business some day.

We’re a successful (though tiny) cocktail bar at night but our daytime cafe hasn’t yet taken off, though we’ve only been open a few months.  We are looking for someone knowledgeable and confident about making coffee, but as important (or more important) someone who is eager, and disposed by character, to get out there and make this work. You would be lead barista as well as serving as lead entrepreneur/manager. We need someone who will figure out ways to attract customers, and energetically implement those plans – whether it’s special outreach to apartment buildigns, yoga studios, musicians etc. or cross promotions with like minded businesses, or deals specially tailored to specific groups, or handing out special offers…. or etc. etc.

Basically, we need someone who wants to launch their own business (and probably sees that as their next step). We need someone to create a menu – we currently serve only limited food – and figur eout how to get the food and/or make it. And to figure out inventive cofee drinks for the warmer weather, and etc. We want someone to, in effect, take onwership of the enterprise and run with it. We serve Joe coffee which is excellent, and will be getting a sidewalk cafe license which should be a big help…
