Full-Time Manager, Showroom Coffee
Job Description
Showroom Coffee, a green coffee and small-batch roasting equipment merchant, and a part of Crop to Cup Coffee Importers, seeks a full-time Manager.
As Manager at Showroom, you will jump into in a broad and exciting array of the coffee industry, from green coffee importing, to sample roasting, to roasting equipment manufacturing and operation, sales, customer service, marketing and more! On a daily basis you will engage with all levels of our importing, sales and marketing teams, and, externally, with roasting businesses, home roasters and suppliers around the world.
The Manager role at Showroom includes a wide variety of *daily* onsite responsibilities, including:
– Customer service for green coffee and roasting equipment customers (online, phone orders and local pickup orders) – mostly for Showroom but also orders from Crop to Cup for pickup from the Brooklyn warehouse
– Sample roasting (for Showroom and Crop to Cup) on a 3-barrel Arc S
– Arc Roaster and our other equipment – responding to sales and tech inquiries, processing orders including bench testing and shipping.
– Inventory Management
– Manager of warehouse staff (currently 1) who perform order packing and shipping. Backup support to warehouse staff during busy shipping periods.
We are looking for a fun and energetic team member to start immediately with the following skills:
– Experience in the coffee industry required. Due to the role’s involvement with Arc Roaster and other equipment, experience on roasting equipment is a strong plus
– Strong customer service skills over phone email, including excellent writing skills
– Strong computer skills including email, spreadsheets, and other databases
– Ability to perform physical work daily, including lifting of heavy items.
The position is full-time and based at the Brooklyn, NY headquarters of Showroom Coffee and Crop to Cup Coffee Importers (remote work is rare). The Manager must be self-driven and highly organized to excel without a lot of daily direction from senior managers. Full-time salary based on experience, plus annual bonus, plus a maximum-allowed QSEHRA payment (a tax-free allowance for medical/insurance costs), and vacation time included.
