with a passion for Roasting & Online marketing

About us:

Saison is the NY/NJ based complementary and upcoming sister company of Coperaco Coffee.

As a new and upcoming brand, we aim to focus on Wholesale, Trainings and E-commerce in Specialty Coffee. From seed to cup, Saison will share in-depth knowledge, science and unique experiences in the field.

In addition to benefiting from the Coperaco plantation in the Dantali Natural Reserve in Nicaragua, Saison will collaborate with the best green coffee buyers around, working on light to medium roasts and specific barista skills, brewing skills & sensory skills programs.

Specialty Coffee will be at the core of our activity, but we also aim to shine as a brand, with great merchandising, state of the art communication, exclusive workshops and collaborations… all of this in our future showroom/café/training center to be opened somewhere in the City as from Spring 2019.

About the full-time position:

We are now looking for a multi skilled individual, as our team is super small, to help us develop the company on various aspects. No need to mention that you have to feel at ease to work on a computer, but also on a roaster!! Be able to work and research things on your own, and bring solutions to multiple future challenges on various topics.

• Main activity:

Your main activity as a « young » roaster, will be to help us build the coffee DNA of the company. You don’t need an extensive experience in roasting, but show the will to learn fast and be very independent. Roasting Foundation, Sensory skills, use of Cropster or Artisan and understanding of Specialty Coffee are a must.

• Other tasks:

Since roasting will not require a full time position in the beginning, you will have to work with us on various aspects of building a new brand, and be ready to partially learn on your own and solve problems. One of the main aspect will be online marketing: social networks and e-commerce strategies.

Please consider other aspects such as coffee packing, event coordination, production research/quotes and quality control cuppings to name a few of them.

We are an emerging company, you will work in close collaboration with our Director and colleagues from our mother company in New Jersey.

Other requirements:

• Problem solving and multitasking ability
• At ease with MS Office, spreadsheets, Google Drive & Docs, Sheets and other computer tools
• Passion and enthusiasm for coffee + Sensory abilities
• Carry weight, lift up to 50+ pounds (green beans bags)
• Able to work for a long duration on feet standing
• Communicate clearly and honestly
• Roasting specialty coffee, developing and tracking roast profiles, packaging and maintaining care and cleanliness of all roasting equipment.
• Participating in green bean sampling, quality control, trainings set up and anticipation of upcoming roasting based on volume requirements
